Clothing Sizing for normal women
Health authorities in Spain recommended a major overhaul of clothes sizing. They will use the results of a fascinating study that laser mapped on 10,000 women between the ages of 12-70.
. The research identified three main types: the body of the cylinder (similar measures for bust, waist and hips), diablo (or hourglass) and bell (pear-shaped), they found that the shape of the body in general changes with ' age – typically starting from a cylindrical shape, then an hourglass shape (around 30-60), then to a bell shape.
The proposed method for clothes sizing comprise three measuring points
(Bust, waist and hips). There may also be an indicator of height.
According to the survey, 41% of women have trouble finding clothes that fit.
"Forget the size that we use now," Bernat Soria, Minister of Health, said
last week, adding: "We are moving toward a new system, which I hope
better reflect women's actual measurements. "Via IHT
Just last week three British models have been banned from the catwalk to have a BMI of < 18.
The video below shows the shape of the body changes through different age groups (note: anos means "years").
